When nearly seven billion of us wake up each morning, we do so naturally with intentions of bettering our world – yet for all of our daily achievements, discoveries, compassion and love, we are bombarded with little other than war, death, hate and depression.

Our World Today Incorporated was officially founded, as a not for profit organisation, on 2 November 2010 by Mike Worsman and Chris Campbell, with the plan to launch ourworldtoday.com.au in 2011. After years of research, discussions and relevant experience in life and news, we have created a news source that veers away from current trends of negativity and sensationalism, and will focus on presenting inspiring, in-depth and positive news stories. By being not for profit, we illustrate that the media does not have to be about making money, and with that comes a sense of freedom in journalism, the ability to tell the stories you care for, the truth, unrestricted ideals and a chance for change. ourworldtoday.com.au will have mainstream appeal, but present a unique array of positive and challenging in-depth stories.

Our World Today came to life in an attempt to give people an alternative news source. ourworldtoday.com.au was born to allow people the option to source the positive stories that are happening in this world every day. The concept behind such a venture was that if people are surrounded by such positive content, a sense of optimism and community will spread throughout society. Such news could have the potential to inspire, and if one person connects with the website and thinks to themselves, ‘Wow, I could make a difference’, then that person’s mind is changed, and the flow of a new mind set will slowly sweep across society. Everything, including life itself, began from humble beginnings, so while we realise we face a long and arduous road, we are committed to the cause and giving people the option to be inspired.
